All these people babbling on about how cultures are different and leave RH alone, did any of these people actually see the program in question.

erm actuall i plong myself in front of the telly every friday night & watch home n leisure's fish on friday, i then turn it over & watch H&L + which is playing the same stuff only an hour later.

 

So yes i did see the program the same as i see the others on a friday night.

 

Like i said in my original post, what can we do, he's an australian living in australia & the rules are different there, we can't expect the oz government to change the way evrything over there is done just cos we don't like the way an ozzie TV star handles his fish.

 

That would be like the americans telling us we can't name carp & we can only fish for them with bows & arrows like they do.

For an Australian Angler, Rex Hunt is a Saint... Check some of the other 'angling abroad' programmes out. And don't forget some aspect of English Angling could be classed as unacceptable, also.

i think as with other foreign progs it should be dubbed ,if he does something not too our liking a digitilized chap should do something nice

I am too, once this kind of thing starts, it is not long before others see it as being an acceptable practice and such names are being accorded to other subscribers simply because their opinions differ to others.

 

I really can't see that it has any useful purpose, the thread would have been just as good without a title which was obviously intended to be offensive. :confused:

As freedom of speach i also have a right to express my views as along with everybody else so try and add to the topic with original, factual posts, thanks.

 

Chevin, i realised my first post on the subject may offend, upset some people and realised the error of my ways and added another, watered down post if you would like to read that instead. I did think this post would of been deleted. Sorry for upsetting anyone.

The average viewing public is ignorant, but not that ignorant! Do you not think all that sun, the maps, and the language might not be a giveaway to to even the thickest.

 

Maybe we should also call for a ban on all programmes produced by other countries on the grounds that their culture is not the same as ours and it might confuse the ignorant amongst us!
