Collins is dead.

I always had mixed feelings re Peter Collins. His views on pike were not shared by myself. That aside, a grand course angler, and for that he deserves some respect.

it looks like he stood his ground which in my eyes makes him OK, right or wrong

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

He wasn't a bad sea angler either.

A born contrarian, he was so often at loggerheads with angling politicians, but one of the "old school" of writers that Angling Times used to have.

I still have his book on fishing the Norfolk Broads.

Nice to see Norwich doing so well recently - from "League One" (really the 3rd divison) to Premiership in two seasons, and (so far) holding their own there.

We must come up for some more piking at Fritton some time - there is a campervan site quite near so there is no need to widen your gateposts :lol:

Wish we could come along but alas, that isn't in the cards these days.

Peter - great to see you posting even though the cause was sad.

Newt, ex U.S. servicemen can come in via Lakenheath, courtesy of the USAF, we'll pick you up, sorted.

Vagabond, great idea. Budgie and his bro would be welcome too, so long as we haven't got to lug his batteries around. Perhaps the lady in the shop/reception will have forgotten him my now!
