I've recently also discovered a "private" estate lake pretty close to Chapmanslade that allows 2 day tickets per day that can be booked in advance. Lots of good pike plus the usual livebait, er..., I mean carp and tench etc. It's also a bird sanctuary for migratory waterfowl. Nice place for a bit of peaceful lake fishing (apart from the racket the ducks make) if you fancy it. Or we could try the barbelly thing, especially if there's some decent rain soon.

 

Incidentally, Frome's previous tackle dealer - Chris Haines - has moved his business to Dilton Marsh, *very* close to your new place, and seems to have a fishery there too.
