Bloody Fireworks!

Recommended Posts

September the 20th (11pm) and the bloody fireworks have already started for the rest of the year.

Driving my dog insane, he's just crawled under my computer desk next to my hard drive.

There really does need to be a law against the fireworks related to when to use them, i.e. (during 1 week before and 1 week after the 5th November).

Is the use of fireworks after a certain time in the evening classed as disturbing the peace??? And would the police do anything???

I've got to put up with this for about 100 days now until the the New Year fireworks begin.

Absolute bonkers !!!

Go to the chemist and get some Valerian Extract (liquid form). A herbal depressant that doesnt excite the stomach or have any bad side effects. A couple of drops in the dogs drink will help calm him down. It takes a day or 2 to have a noticeable claming effect but the dog won't be drugged out of his mind. Theres no worry about the dogs health once you resume normality after the fireworks have gone.

Best to get him in there early. Leave things too late and potentially its the vets and doggy valium. Not very nice and not what you want either.

Be there, done all that...worn the T-shirt. Not fair on the beasts.

Whaa!!!

Seems like there is no fire-work period around where I live.

Since the Millenium celebrations, it seems that fireworks are de-riguer at any party now, whatever the time of year.

Great fun for the party-goers, but not so much fun for the rest of the neighbourhood who have pets; sleeping babies; trying to get an early night before a long-drive or just enjoying a decent video (why does the whooshing, crackling and banging always start at the most inappropriate moment?).

I can't do this personally, but where I go shooting, if fireworks get set off at what is deemed an inappropriate time, so is an unsuppressed .22-250, which is a lot louder than any firework I have heard!

They ussually get the message!

I was under the impression that the Government were passing legislation on this issue.

Either restricting the timings, or the public purchases of fireworks.

This would be the most popular legislation for years.

i think fireworks should be banned except where

public displays are concerned and are strictly

controlled.

that way at least children and pets are'nt at so

much risk to horrific injuries ?

Last year I bought a (ridiculously expensive) box of fireworks for Nov. 5th. I suggested to my young Daughter that she might like to watch the display from her playhouse in the garden but she didn't want to prefering to watch them with her Auntie, indoors from an upstairs window. A few minutes later I lit a large rocket which promptly snapped off its wooden stem on take off and veered low and towards the playhouse before exploding.......I won't be buying fireworks this year. I have been very, very lucky.
