Steve, I've got the two man version which has plenty room for a bed and all the bits I need. There's a porch type area also so is good for boiling the kettle etc if it's raining outside. In the past i've had a very expensive pram style Trakker bivvy and I much prefer the force 8.

I think the majority of broken poles etc is down to people forcing them when putting them up/ dropping them down etc. I think it's well worth popping them up and down at home several times before using them on the bank. Once you get your head round putting them up they're super easy...just chill and take your time :).

If you do decide to get one i'd recommend Fishtech, no messing about with them and any prob's they just swap or refund...an excellent after sales and Brenda's a star :).

I forgot to mention that Fishech deliver super fast and you will most likely get a free jacket or similar for the money you'll pay, give them a bell ;) .

I have to agree with everything that's been said here. If you do order one and want someone to show you how to put it up then let me know and I'll come and show you. If it feels like you are putting too much force on the poles then it is usually because you are opening it up incorrectly in my mind.

I think I'm going to buy one, if you want to pop around to my swim and show me how to put it up you'd be very welcome :D

No problem, possibly it will be best to do it after the BBQ on the way back to my swim. It is really easy though :-)

I've used something similar to the Force 8 and found it very fast and easy to put up and take down. The only downsides I found were that the cover for the top vent flapped in the wind, although taking this off when dry does cool the inside down in hot weather. Additionally in a strong wind it was blown out of shape. A pram hood design is much more stable, but then it's slower to put up/down and is usually heavier.

The Force 8 design has been criticised for breaking when putting up/down, but I had no problem. I suspect it's users doing so incorrectly and then using too much force.

I can't comment on the build quality of the Force 8 as mine was some years ago and from a different company. However mine was fine, and I suspect was made in the same factory.

I've got the two man version and have to say, have never had a problem with it. As others have stated, I think a lot of the broken poles, hinges, etc are down to people using too much force to put it up. It is actually very easy to put up and take down, it just takes a bit of practice as Tigger says. I also got mine from Fishtec and it was delivered the next day despite requesting a normal delivery.
