Nice post Budgie,, agree 100% with all you say.

Do you remember that black braid that we used to use about 35 years ago?

Got it Budgie, Black spider it was....used it for drifting dead or live baits on Startops cos it floated.

Just done some checking of the memory banks and it was probably more than 45 years ago!!!

P.S. If my memory serves me well, didn't they do a Special Offer of a bottle of Anglers Aftershave with it too?

I use Leeda feeder tec for medium to long range bream fishing and for ALL my winter ledgering as the bites then become easier to see.

I think it costs about 14.00 oer spool for 100m but cant be sure.

I use PowerPro for all my fishing for all species and all situations. I used to hold a vast collection of bulk nylon spools, but have got rid of them all a long time ago.

If i use a braid mainline, do i need to use a braid hook length?

Is it advisable to use a mono hook length to act as a bit of a shock absorber?

Do i need any sort of shock absorber at all?

Does braid make for good hook lengths? if so, would it be used with a mono main line at all?

Thanks.
