I may have missed something here BUT, why can't you simply reinstall Widows ME, which should include Outlook Express and Internet Explorer?

Jim, I think that as my original ME startup disc has been superceded by updates, it won,t let me load it.

I haven,t tried , because I don,t know what I,m doing.

I don,t want to make matters worse.

But, if its safe to try it, I will (and anything else suggested).

As a last resort, I am going to reload my original ME start-up disc. :(

I want to save details of my POP server etc,

a} Is that necessary ?

b} If so, where is it ?

To set POP details:

In Outlook Express go to:

Tools

Accounts

Select your Email account

Properties

Servers

Set POP details

You refer to your startup disk. Is this your emergency diskette or the CD that you installed ME from. You won't be able to do much with the diskette.

Got to get to work soon so someone else had better take over!

I suggest you open a Hotmail account so that you can be sent Email instructions.

Thanks Jim, I can,t open Outlook Express to get this information (thats the problem).

However,I have found the information noted in my computer log book (hard copy).

I have the Makers Recovery CD, which I don,t propose to install.

I think I,ve found the original CD, I will install that.

tyke, I have Norton installed and ran a complete scan earlier today. Everything came up clear.

I have found two CD,s, I think one is my start-up CD.

Its titled WINDVD 2000 INTERVIDEO Version 2.3

Text; "Run setup.exe From The CD/DVD Drive Prompt"

"Launch WinDVD And Type F 1 For On-Line Help" .

Is this it ?

Its been such a long time since I installed it, I ain,t sure.

The other one is titled "Utility CD Version 1.2"

Text ; "Please refer to the readme. txt before you begin to install the drivers.

A.Driver (Path:Driver)

B>Utility (Path:Utility)"

Doesn,t look very likely either, does it ? :(
