ThePiker:

Misspent youth as a Mod, Surely not Peter.

Would understand if you had said you were a rocker or a heavy metal freak.....even even worse, a teddy boy. :D:D:D

I was probably the only Mod on a motor bike, certainly in Lincoln as I was at the time! And I did listen to rock, when my mates were out of ear-shot!

Seemed to me that Mods, at that time, had better looking birds than Greasers did!

Interestingly, maybe, when I first moved to Lincoln, I was at the Art College, I took my Broads angling techniques with me. At that time the Lincoln Angling Club was an exceedingly keen match club, 1964. I always remember setting up my Milward Swimversa and ABU 505. It seemed that at that time no one had ever seen a 505! The interest that a long haired hippy created with his high speed use of a 505 was incredible. And when I was seen using a ledger on the Foss Dyke, and catching, I had quite a gallery around me. Maybe it was pure coincidence but I often wonder if my ledgering did help start, in a very small way, the interest in the technique on the match circuit at the time.

Did feel a tad out of place wearing a fish-tail parka when Jimi Hendrix was on the Isle of Wight.

Moderators please note, the mention of 'fish-tail' keep this as an angling topic!!
