£-Maggots

Dave H

Recommended Posts

Recently i decided to approach my water without the usual corn or boilies and decided to buy 8 pints of maggots and a tub of worms.
Well it came to with a few floats and a tub of swan shot to £45!
By the time i had baited up a few swims i more or less had about a pint of maggots and half a tub of worms.I worked that out to be about £4 a pint
Wondering here what the price of a pint of maggots and worms are where you are?

There is not one thing different between ideology and religeon

Maggots about £3 a pint and a 1/4 kilo of worms £9.50. Fishing is not getting any cheaper :-(

Maggots in my local = £3.00 per pint

A pint of maggots weighs approx 300grams - based on this 100g = £1.00 so a kilo = £10.00

A kilo of worms costs £27.25

Skettering coarse pellets in bulk 25kg sacks cost £34.50, so 1kg of pellets can work out at £1.38

Any idea why pellet has become so popular???

Yeah I'm the same £3 a pint use to get them at £2 a pint where I use to live 25kg scretting pellets I pick up for £27 or a bit of back door dealing I get a bag once a month for free and being a chef sweet corn is free. However I do love fishing with maggots and will quite often buy a gallon I believe that a lot of people forget the natural baits maybe primarily cause of cost

It seems the further you go south the more you get stung. Mind you that's not a new surprise is it? :nono:

All,

An + Bn = Cn ÷ the number of fish caught (cipher, cipher, cipher)

My annual cost per pound for fish caught is about £41.45.

Not too bad I’d say since I have to put them right back. (??? wonder what my annual fish possession in minutes per "£" would work out to be?)

Edit: That's just for bait, £41.45. I have quickly added in transportation, food, lodging, rod, reels, and a few indispensible "extras" which brings the total to roughly £41.45 a milligram or maybe it's a ,microgram.
