Hi, I have got £50 to spend on a fixed spool reel, can anyone tell me what they would reccomend for general beachcasting please,

:D If they're still available on 'Special' the Shakespeare K2 Powerplay, RRP £90 but have been seen much cheaper. A real tough reel. :D

 

 

I recently bought a Daiwa Emcast 6000 and it's been absolutely ace so far. Picked it up for £53 off eBay.

First day's fishing - 21/07/08

 

Caught so far: 6 tiddly little bass (released)

i'v just managed to source another storm 7000 reel at a boot fair ,cheap reel but can outcast (and i'm no caster!) any other fixed spool reel i have including a rather bad abu by at least 25%.

the rod makes a difference ofcourse my old new diawa supercast outcasts my new newer longbeam easily using the same reel :D

:D It's down to what I always say when reviewing tackle, it's what suits you best. Find what fits you and suits your style of casting and you will almost certainly catch more fish with it. :D

For £50 I'd get the Shimano Aerlex I've been using one for years, cracking reel. If you want to spend(i know the word is forign to you :D ) an extra £10 get the Shimano Navi Ive just got one and its even better.

Just one big fish, PLEASE!!!!!!
