The Ashes. Did the Aussies go to far?

Our boys have done themselves no favours so far, I keep hoping that the next test match will see us come good, but it just doesn't seem to be happening for us.

This time around, we seem to be able to F-up a potential winning situation with regular collapses under pressure (we did it again last night) which is something that the England side that won and retained the ashes at the last three series just didn't do. We always had three or four players (and not always the same ones) who managed to put on an outstanding math-winning performance.

That just hasn't happened for this series, and I for one can't put my finger on it. Just 18 months ago, we were the No. 1 International test team, for the first time in I don't know how long (ever?)

Where did it all go wrong?

Don't go Swanny, we still need you!

It went wrong because they weren't as good as the statistics made them seem, and they believed the hype, (and probably believed that they were even better than that).

England are currently a very mediocre team who have no-one with the ability to consistently grind out an innings while the other end gets some runs.

i think the England team were very generous in this innings to not leave the young rookies hanging around to bat and brought in Early. well done the top order. mind you capt that was a bit obvious what you were doing!

Well done to the OZ and they deserve all of it. Yes, England were miserable but Clarke really did his homework on each batsman and in most cases it paid off. The only one's he couldn't was the new boys and they showed the old school how to do it.

Cook has never really needed to Captain as the side has done it's thing and still won but in this test match he had to show he was the captain and he failed miserably. He got bullied around by his corporals and was basically told him how they wanted to win the war! He even got bullied into playing his game by the opposition. He needed to attack on several occasions but let his bowlers especially Anderson set a field that was purely to keep his own runs per over down so basically his own vanity..

Teams batting tails now are much better batsman than they used to be and can knock up a good few runs off a medium pace or spin bowler but they never will be good enough in any cricket team to face a 90+ mph ball at them. That was the biggest difference amongst many that johnson wiped out the tail of England on every innings bar one in the whole test match series.

The difference of a 85mph ball and a 90mph ball to hit is massive. A bit like 1/2 second in a Formula 1 GP.

The only good thing was that England have found a good all-rounder and they are like gold dust. Wrap him up in cotton wool England..

I might just crack a coldy and then go and whitewash the outhouse.

Whitewash being the operative word Fred.

the sport the aussies are good at is rubbing it in.

till the next time then. :bangin:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The Aussies used to be very good at a variety of sports but now not many. What’s happened to their swimming?

Years back it was USA against AUSSIE in the Olympics but now they are off the map!

The other factor that has to be considered although not an excuse but does contribute is the Aussie flat wickets. The fast bowlers have the edge.

We had a fast bowler but he never got in the side but was in the team...Strange
