Nice one five bellies

:D

Very funny :D

I would think a 200 pound skate would be like winching a double wet matress up the eiffel tower.

200 pound conger would be a dangerous animal to have in a boat :o

We'll bow down to your obvious expertise on that one, shall we? <_<

I have heard of cod reaching 200lb from oil rigs in some parts.

Skate are large powerful but faily slow fish, so when compairing the fighting quality of a fish this should be put into the equation.

For example you could not realy compair a 200lb skate to a 200lb blue fin tuna.

IM NOT AS GREEN AS I AM CABBAGE LOOKING!

or maybe I am.

When I was a tacker many many moons ago my family used to holiday in Cormwall.

What would be considered barbaric today was conger hung up on display on the quay. I cannot remember exactly what port it was as we used to visit so many when we were down there.

Some years later there was an article in one of the weekly angling mags with a photo displaying another string of conger the largest of which was claimed to be over 200lb.

Then there was the tale of a French fisherman who went missing and was later found caught up in his handline with a 200lb plus conger on the other end.

I have never had a large conger boated but I did have an epic battle with one for nearly an hour in a fast tide, I got it to within twenty yards or so from the boat when it decided to do the spinning trick and it snapped of one of the swivels. To be honest I was quite pleased to see the back of it.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

You may think it strange, but I have no desire at all to catch a 200lb anything. A superb old fish like that should be left alone.

Now, have I said he right thing?

lol, whatever you say you want to do and your ideals are is right by you and that is who you are :D

oh fiddle sticks... i knew what i meant ;)
