the more i look at that pic, the more i think somebodies been practising on photoshop, the fish just doesn't look right, particularly the outline on the left hand side and the very dodgy shadows

I agree jeepster, the shadows around the tail and anal fin don't look right to me.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Cracking fish, Looks like what the spanish call a black bass (not the American type) to me they tend to reach a larger size when given a chance to . have seen some lunkers in the fish markets

Check out the wrist of the tail, when blown uo the pixcels dont seem right. The wrist itself seems a tad fat too.

It's a big fish - no doubt about that but I don't think it's 35lb. A friend has a cast of the british record bass caught by Dave Bourne (19lb - 1988) and whilst the fish in the photo is certainly bigger than that it's not anywhere near as big as the 34lb striper I saw in October last year in Montauk (not caught by me). Unfortunately I didn't have a camera to hand to record the big striper - but then that would only have been 'another' photo of 'another' big fish. The only person who knows for certain the weight is the guy in the picture - at the end of the day its a magnificent fish whatever its true weight.

The pic has come from the www.myfishcasting.org forum

You'd best ask them on there about it. I think it's a genuine fish, although it may be an escaped farm fish. Look at the size of the guy's thumb compared to the head and scales, and the sheer fatness of the fish. Big bass don't get much longer, they just get fatter.
