Dolphins

Recommended Posts

Dolphins are one of the most intelligent of mammals.

Like all mammals, they are warm bloodied and bear their young live.

They have one of the largest brains of any mammal, and are very sociable creatures.

Crunch question; as warm blooded mammals, they are significantly different to fish. Do dolphins feel pain?

Moved this to sea fishing, as there may be some charter skippers/anglers that can advise re: dolphin captures

As for pain of course they feel pain all mammals do!

On the subject of Dolphins anyone remember the guy getting done a few years ago for "interfering" with a friendly dolphin off North Sheilds?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I would still thought that they would make an odd mistake or two. Perhaps like a human who can't resist a dangerous situation/risk?

Perhaps they have sharper brains than humans ;):D:D

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

There was a report on Countryfile (BBC1 Sunday morning) a while back about the problems the Scottish longliners were having with killer whales removing halibut from their longlines. They showed the longlines being hauled in with just the halibut lips on the hooks. Whales/dolphins are obviously smart enough to recognise the danger and act accordingly.
