What settings do you need for something that clear. My first attempt is nowhere near as good as multimap pictures.

I think the others are right because I don't do anything but look for my place when I log on to 'Earth'. Perhaps it also depends on the angle at which the picture is taken. By the look of my area, the satellite must have been directly overhead

Try 35.36724 N, 80.71902 W

The white roofed area is my favorite tackle shop.

To the right of the small kidney shaped pond is storage for boats that are being set up for sale.

Also during times of conflict, we had bombing missions to Iraq taking off from there :(

AFAIK all the B52s that flew to Iraq flew from there!

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Some went from Farnborough and Brize Norton, I was based there at the time and the base was on high alert whilst they was there.

I think some went from Mildenhall too

They may have done, but they all got to these UK bases from Barksdale Airforce Base. That's the B52s home base.

True, it is, but I remember several coming back to Brize from bombing runs refuelling then they was off again, was non-stop for about 3 months, total nightmare for the people that lived on base and in the town

We had a similar intensity, though I don't remember it going on for quite that long. It's strange to see them leaving, and later to see the bombs going off on the news.

Most of the military aircraft we see are Hercules transport planes; from Lyneham, I think.
