Pressure washers

I was thinking of buying one of these pressure washers for cleaning in the garden - Drive and decking etc. I have seen 1 in argos for 44 notes. What do people think are they any good ? Are they much stronger than a hospipe ?

Hello Glen,

 

I've been using an older model Karcher for about three years. It does a good job (far better than a garden hose).

 

It's given me no trouble at all,and I wouldn't quibble with its' value at that price.

Best check to see if your area is due for a hosepipe ban first, though...

LOL . My garden is under water. Cant get on me allottment. God knows when I'll get me spuds in. Dont think we will be having a hoepipe ban m8.

 

None stop rain here mate for a month solid. Thinking of building an ark .

I would have a GOOD look round before commiting to one!! Karcher get a LOT of returns is all I can tell you

I used to repair Pressure washers and steam cleaners. Have you got access to a MAKRO card?? They do similar machines and a lot cheaper I think!! And the boot sales around heer you would be able to pick up a similar machine for around £29.99. Same machine is sold by Red Devil!! Just a different casing!! And same 12 month guarantee!!

I got myself a nice little 110bar machine from ALDI for I think £40 and with a car brush too. BIGGEST problem with these machines is the regulators!! Seals are a load of !!!!

So what do you think Chris. If I got one it would be occasional use. I clean the car perhaps once every 2 months and the decking gets it no more than a dozen times a year. Would it last a few years or be kerput in months ?

Spooky - I have just come from downstairs, where I was having a conversation about these and then this was the first thread I saw!!

 

I had my old Karcher for nearly 15 years, and it finally gave up the ghost a few weeks back. I replaced it with one like the one in this thread (K2.08) and I've used it once and it now refuses to switch on

Dunno who made ours but it was cheap and it works just fine. Way better than any hose. This would peel the stickers off your bike...lol
