Looks like a dace to me - though can't see the anal fin for the 'classic' distinction - dace have concave anal fins - it is convex on chub.

Which still waters do you fish with dace in? :yeah:

Christ, shows how bad my eyes are getting.... it looks more like a juvenile roach to me??

I was thinking the same Chris, I used to fish a small stream in N Yorks, and used to get two shapes of roach. One looked just like the one in the photo, while the other was a deeper fish more like the normal shape.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I thought it was the dorsal fin that was concave on the dace? Dace are not so prolific as they were a few years ago, got to be the result of the 'Black Death' taking them I suppose :(

I think that's a Roach. It's a bit too orangey in the fins and eyes.....no?
