i'm back

having spent most of the last three months feeling soory for myself having broken my leg, I felt the urge last night to go out and take some photos, just sunsets, but really pleasent. The Catalyst was a lunch at a gallery featuring John Stobbart's work, which introduced me to a whole new world of portraiture photography.............though much of it is more suitable for Loaded or GQ magazine, the quality of the shots was undeniable.

 

it's really spurred me on to try and take different shots

Portrait photogaphy is always something I have struggled with, composing any shot never appears to be an issue for me, but getting the lighting right and knowing when to use flash or not, confuses me and I end up taking literally hundreds of useless shots, and messing my subjects about too much also.

I couldn't agree more Steve, It's all rocket science to me I cannot get the lighting right.

 

Have we got any experts among us who could post an idiots guide cos thats what I need!

the sam taylor wood exhibition has also really caught my attention, thus far, no photos to show.

 

by the way, John Stobbart, as well as being a really nice guy, is totally outrageous. Going to the opus gallery tommorow to look at some more of his work...........taking a cold shower afterwards.
