I dont think it can be real but what the hell is it ?

It's not real Glennn as you guess, take a look in photoshop and you will see the jpeg anomalies left behind when the item has been layered.

 

Also as you can see, unless it was caught on 20mm polyprop anchor line this is out of proportion to the diver.

 

Can't really say from the view of the fish but it may well be a grouper or similar reef fish, there are a lot similar.

 

Rescalling the diver to the line I would estimate the fish weight in the 8Lb region :lol:

 

PS There may also be a clue in the photo origin.........

I scanned the pic and I think the diver only has three fingers :lol: Please correct me if I am wrong :rolleyes:

And what is wrong in having 3 fingers and two thumbs, very normal in some parts :blink: ..................

It's a very small fish blown up to gargantuan proportions by being brought from great depth to the surface too rapidly. :)

 

 

 

I think it's a normal sized fish, but with a very small man beside it, shrunk to miniscule proportions by the pressure in the ocean depths.

talking of large things ,once out from pompey we saw a jellyfish at least 6 feet across the "body" i really didnt know they grew that big :o

and that was before we hit the bottle...s
