BEUTIFULL TENCH

I don't go Tench Fishing without Hemp, if you want to avoid Roach just use a bigger hookbait like a Lobworm or a big cube of Meat. If anything it pays to have Roach feeding in the swim as they in turn attract the larger fish.

My PB tench (golden, 7lb) was caught whilst night-fishing for carp, using double hair-rigged Malteezers....

yes i agree, but you wouldn't want pesky roach nibbling at your bigger bait would you.

so i would never use hemp for tench just lots of yummy chopped wormz, and as pointed out corn as well.

anyone got any of of these punches please

Loads of hemp for attraction, some corn for visibility, some chopped worm, some casters and red maggot, and l always use some groundbait to hold it all together. Hookbait is usually whatever you can get away with (depends on the other fish in there, especially little roach/rudd/perch). Maggot, caster, lobworm, bread, mini boilies if it's carp fished.

Get there early (before dawn) and keep an eye out. Nearly all my tench fishing is done in the margins, the weedier the better. If you see one roll, get over there sharpish! :)

I'd have one rod on a method feeder with a big bait and one on the float with a small bait, and take it from there.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
