Shot gun shooters, fancy one of these?

Yes your right, it is illegal on a standard shotgun cert because it holds more than 3 shells.

You can though have it on a firearm cert (the sort of thing you would have for rifles etc)

Personally I can't shoot with autos, just don't like the feel of them. I like a standard side by side double barrel. :)

Can't see in the video if he pulls the trigger each time to discharge a shell. That would be an important factor, took one off a guy once, well similar anyway, called a SPAS or similar, he was one of those (can't remember the name) world was going to end in anarchy and we would have to eat each other types.... Had several boxes of "rifled rounds" as well.... VERY SCARY to think he owned an Art Gallery in a local town

The Fianchi Spas was an offensive weapon in every sense of the word. 7 shot semi auto with a 24 inch barrel (shortest legally allowed) folding skeleton stock, battle sights and no real use other than clearing alleys or rooms :) No "sporting" use at all.

Illegal now thankfully as are the rifled rounds you refer to.

SPAS can be had on a section 1 FAC, main use is practical shotgun, but hey can also be had for pest control. Think the folding stock version had to have an extension on the barrel to get around the overal length rule. Slugs are also legal for practical shotgun use.

Personaly not bothered about semis, cant afford the extra ammo ;)

SPAS can be had on a section 1 FAC,

The original SPAS to which Sportsman reminded me off it's full capabilities is a "Prohibited Weapon" under the firearms act. They may have since altered it to allow it to be held under a FAC but the one I took off a guy would discharge all its shells in a few seconds with a single trigger pull, which as I said makes it a Prohibited weapon by definition.

If anyone is like me and knows nothing about these weapons, here's a link.

But see what happens in FRANCE!!

In France Chris "Combat Shotguns" as with other weapons designed for French Military use have to survive a gruelling "Drop Test"

In the test the soldier, on hearing a rifle shot or explosion has to identify where the shot came from and immediately turn and run as fast as he can in the opposite direction, whilst running as fast as he can he must then, on hearing another shot throw the weapon as far away from him as he can, but not in the direction of any of his comrades who will also have thrown down their own weapons.

This is immediately followed by Physical Excersize Training where the Soldiers are trained to stand for long perios of time with their hands up in the air or held hands clasped behind the back of their heads

You will find lots of adverts for ex military weapons in France, they all say (name of weapon) never fired, dropped once or twice

You could almost believe that an individuals desire to own one of these is in inverse proportion to the size of his ****:rolleyes:

Yes he does since the shotgun is clearly identified as a 'semi-automatic'. That pretty well defines a semi-automatic weapon. If you pull & hold the trigger while the gun acts like a hose pipe, it is fully automatic.

Re: the 'rifled rounds', it would be more common to have a barrel for the gun that had lands and groves incised into it (rifling) and use the 'slug' shells that have a single projectile. Those do have a sporting use, BTW.
