Hello everyone my name is Mark and i live on the South Wales coast near Cardiff, been sea fishing since i was a kid, 36 now and have just taken up coarse fishing. I purchased one of the Hyperloop 390 rods that someone pointed out on here from argos for £22.50, got some floats, hooks to nylon, line and shots etc bait and off i went. Ive had loads of fun infact i cant remember for a long time since i was young fishing and enjoying it so much. Up to now ive had about 15 carp up to about 10lb and lots of other fish like bream, roach, rudd and a nice barbell (boy can they fight) Anyway enough from me for now, just thought i would say hello.

Great forum by the way.

Sounds like you've had some good catches already, I think you'll be teaching us a few things soon ;)

Hello Big Mark

I've been fishing for about 18 months and got nothing near double figures. You must be doing something better then me ! Biggest I had was a carp about 7lb but with no scales to weight it can't be sure. Welcome to the site

Welcome bigmark. Glad to have you.

Ali - it is very possible that he is fishing waters that hold larger fish. You can only catch what is in front of you.

Hello Big mark,

Coming from Wales are you a big number 8 or number 2.

Have a good time on AN.

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.
