Shogun or Freelander

*Ant*

Recommended Posts

Well i'm thinking about replacing my fishing wagon with one of the above.

I've noticed that the Freelander is a 1.8 which seems a tad small for the size of vehicle so was wondering if they feel underpowered.

At the other end of the scale is the 3.0 petrol Shogun, don't fancy the fuel bills on one of them :o , but thought I could live with the 2.5 turbo diesel. (oh....SWB, don't need the LWB)

So just thought that anyone who has either could help my chose and perhaps point out any known problems that I should look for.

BTW - Do the rear seat fold flat on both?

Thanks for any reply (unless it's from ferret in which case it will probably be no use and just to wind me up :D )

For me it would be the Shogun or similar. NO contest!! The Freelander is fine as far as it goes but is really a ladies car I feel or even a hairdressers!!

Mind you, having said that!! There again for you ANT :thumbs: Could be a winner!!

And with a GAS ;) conversion on a 3ltr V6............

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Hiya Ant,

I've got the jap version of the Shogun Sport, 2.8TD auto box.. superb bit of kit.. loads of space and not too bad on the fuel. I use it a lot at work for towing the car trailer.

Norrie has the UK spec one with the 3l Petrol engine.. again superb bus.
