hi nathan chesters is correct. i would use a spinner a large mepps as you need to be able to cast a long way . its very sporting as you appreciate just what a fine fighting fish mackerel are . early morning and late evening is the best time to spin as they generally come close in.

The salary of the chief executive of a large corporation is not a market award for achievement. It is frequently in the nature of a warm personal gesture by the individual to himself.

Any small spinner will work if the fish are hungry and chasing food. However if you use a light spinner you can't cast very far, and the fish are rarely right under your feet, which means using a weight to get the distance. This reduces the fun and risks the spinner tangling with the lead and line during the cast. Better to go for a heavy spinner like a Dexter Wedge that has enough weight to cast but does not need any extra lead to get in the way.
