Could not believe my eyes when I spied this pair if golliwogs for sale in a shop window in Grange over Sands.

Obviously PC has not reached that part of the world yet - thank the Lord!! It made me feel quite sentimental and British for a few fleeting seconds. I was going to buy them but a deposit had already been left on them :huh:

Very unusual these days ...

 

I once got a rollicking off a "PC" person for wearing a set of 12 Robertson golliwog badges on my biker jacket !

 

Considering that they had been there for over 30 years I wasn't inclined to remove them, and told said "PC" person so !! :angry:

Golliwogs are making a comeback despite the PC brigade. They are on sale all over the place now. I last saw them in a shop in North Yorks while convalesing a few months ago. My wife has made a small collection of them and we have a lovely fridge magnet of one too.

That's exactly what I was thinking and I was walking around York a couple of weeks back and saw tons of them in a shop there.

I don't think I am particularly PC, but they are a bit insensitive surely. But of course none of you are black are you?
