In previous years applying in early March has generated problems, so this year we thought to let the early dust settle before trying to buy our licences

Norma applied online for hers on Sunday (March 22nd). The site froze up twice, but Norma has more patience than me and tried a third time. The system eventually whipped the fee out of her bank account and said thank you for buying a licence and one will be sent...... but.......at no point did the system ask for an address.

Hopefully her address is on a data base somewhere and the licence will turn up - but what happens to folk who have moved house during the last year is a problem I'm glad we don't share.

I drove five miles to our only remaining local village post office the next day - Monday March 23rd, The Post Office have closed FOURTEEN sub/village post offices within a seven-mile radius of my home during the last twenty years and I patronise this one to help keep it open - and purchased a piece of paper saying I had paid for a salmon licence.

We await the real licences...........

My salmon licence has just dropped through the letterbox - four days after paying for it at a village post office.

It looks as if the EA have their finger out at last !

All we did differently from previous years (when licences used to take over a month to arrive) was to delay applying until late March.

WOW!!!!!

Just looked at the UK rod licence costs...

How much it costs

Prices are to 31 March 2015.

Licence type Non-migratory trout and coarse Salmon and sea trout Full £27.00 £72.00 Senior (over 65) concession £18.00 £48.00 Disabled concession £18.00 £48.00 Junior (12 to 16) concession £5.00 £5.00 8-day licence £10.00 £23.00 1-day licence £3.75 £8.00

My Qld licence cost is (pensioner) $35 ($7.50 for 1 week) to fish any of 32 dams in an area 7.5 times the size of the UK No licences required for sea, or rivers.

Had to buy 3 licences to fish 1 km of the Matoura River in New Zealand...

Could Newt, or Phone put in the licence costs for the United States, or their particular State, please?

Cheers, Bobj.

Dunno what they charge US citizens, but they really crucify foreigners !

My Texas licence for fresh and sea used to cost around 50 dollars American - and if you fished in a different state, you needed a different licence for each state.
