Any decent fishing back there?

G'day Newt, I mowed the area 5 days before this. The last time we had this happen was 5 years ago, so, no fishing.

Actually, that photo is National Park land..

After 5 days, we ended up with 26.5 inches of rain and more on the way........ :clap2:

5 yards behind my back yard.

Thats more than our yearly total. Its Monday and i think you're being inundated again. ive just mulched the back garden with 15 bales of peastraw, nothings going to get planted till we get some of the wet stuff.

my mind not only wanders-- sometimes it leaves completely.

Perhaps I should have read it again. Still, I think Chesters should post his back yard.

Blasted English language again.

Chesters1 - in this case, US yard = UK garden. We call any piece of ground adjacent to a house, a yard. Only if you are cultivating and growing stuff is it a garden.

I had to do some internet searching to figure out if you had lost your mind and thought you were growing that tent in the front yard or if there was some confusion with what the words meant here and there.

Errr - you don't think that tent will grow larger if you water and feed it, do you?

A yard is the small area at the back of the house where clothes are washed, horses are hosed down etc. (as 'in the back yard').

The garden is the much larger area where the vegetables are grown.

No snow predicted for here but I am ready for things to warm up a little. Usual lows for this time of year where I live are around freezing. Our all time record low for yesterday was 13ºF/-10ºC and it reached 16ºF at one point. Brrrrr.
