Take part in American Politics

I know that quite a few of you think the US President has made some bad decisions. GW is getting on toward the end of his term and by law, cannot be elected for a 3rd term so we will be having a change at the next election.

Our system is set up so that each major party has a single candidate in the Presidential election and those are chosen in a preliminary election for each party that is open only to voters who have registered as supporters of that party.

The last several Presidents have been Republicans and it may be time for a change but the Democrats have a recent track record of running inviable candidates in the general election. They are apparently trying to avoid this by doing surveys ahead of time to find out how popular certain people might be to the voters.

This is a very informal process and even though you could not vote, I think some sense of international support or lack thereof might be of interest.

The Democratic National Committee is currently polling through the Internet to determine the electability of Hillary Clinton for the presidency of the United States in 2008.

If you would like to show your support for Hillary and encourage her to run for President of the United States in 2008 or just to show your support for the Democratic party, please click the link below.

Indeed yes, I am. At this point I am happy that former NY Mayor Rudi Giuliani (Mayor during the 911 bombings) plans to run.

If I were an American I guess I would be a Republican too, although I don't really see much difference between the Democrats and Republicans. One is right wing and the other more so. I think most of us remember Rudi Giuliani from 9/11. I would rather he was president than Hillary Clinton. Edited by corydoras

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Sigh. The 2008 campaigning season has begun. Hillary and Obama are the best the Dems can come up with. Personally I hope McCain does well.
