After all the hard work that a lot of people have put in, it now appears to be back to square one. Still defra can always retrieve the situation by rushing in the bag limits for the rsa. I see that defra made a point in the bill of how much the rsa bass take could be, but no mention on the commercial take, there is a lot of negative crap to come, no doubt. Any one got any positive things to say? Apart from vote them out.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I'm a bit Naive on this one. What's the chance that Mr Bradshawe will alter mesh sizes to overcome this problem ?

As Steve Good said, it's not the gillnet mesh size that is going to increase discards, it's trawling. Apparently when you hit a shoal of bass with a trawl you catch the whole shoal regardless of cod-end mesh size. I would suspect trawlers will be using the biggest meshes they can to reduce drag and increase economy given the current fuel price climate. The only solution would be to ban trawling.

With regards to the initial post of Steve.

Do you realise that the head of the NFFO who are calling the shots with DEFRA is the same person convicted of serious fishing offences not too long ago ?

Amazes me how Ben Bradshawe can sit down with these people and take seriously any comments they make about conservation when there head guy has such a track record. Its beyond belief.

I thought that the chairman of the NFFO was Mr Normandale?

And the president was Mrs Stevenson?

http://www.nffo.org.uk/presidents_foreword.html

Challenge have you read the last para on that link you have provided. If so whats your take on the issue where they are discussing overturning of the mls bass size, to bring it back to the child molesting 36cm? Its not for the anglers benifit the size is to go up but for the conservation of the stock surly. What i have read there is disgusting in my eyes.

Also, if you press contacts in the link it refers to a mr arnold locker as president?

Glennk, just read your link where it was something to do with fraud? Approximately third of a mil.
