Nifty,

An alternative for rod holders is the RAM system, I don't have any experience of them but they have a UK distributor... website is:

Picked up another Caper today for my 'missus' from Bournemouth Canoes. They offer a 12.5% discount on most goods at the moment till Saturday so could be a good time to buy....

(..and no, I don't work for them :D )

She's a fair weather girl/fisherwoman so thankfully no dry suit needed -- probably get her a flexible wetsuit with rash vest and see how she gets on with that - would like something she can use for snorkelling as well.

My trips with her will be 'recreational' with camping gear in stow.. but will of course bring along a rod or two for the ride :)

Starvin - I do have experience with them but regular boat rather than kayak.

Got a set of 4 for my last boat. First purchase for the new boat was a new set of 4. Rigged another set of 4 on banksticks.

I've used several mounting bases including the flush mount and it should be excellent for your boats. The rod holders themselves are sturdy and very adjustable.
