Do lures work well there?

Tony

On the Wissey, yes, particularly spoons like the Abu Toby. Plugs catch a few, but not as many. I don't know about spinners or plastics - give them a go! On the cut-off, livebaits might be better on the day, it'll depend on conditions.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Arrgh, looks like I'm too late to sign up for this. If you have a 'reserves list' please add me on to that. I'm in suffolk and have just started wobbling so it would be cool to be able to meet up with other anglers who have more experience and get some first hand advice and such like.

Ive just looked again at the list of who will be going and I am pleased to announce that Chavender and I will be able to reprise our most successful Kelly kettle lighting workshop, a free cup of tea for all attendees not necessarily from the Kelly Kettle :D:D:D

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Hi Wayne, I'll start a reserve list as I'm sure some people will drop out.

I've put together a page on MS Local Live showing parking, access, and meeting points for us - nearer the time I'll ask all those coming to PM me your email addresses, and I'll send all the info in one go.

Not too long now :) I'd better get some practice

Random thought: how many people would be interested in extending this into a 2-day event - fishing overnight on Saturday for Zander on the cut-off, then piking as planned on the Sunday? To night fish you'd have to buy a season ticket (also available from baliffs on the bank) which are £36. However, that close to the end of the season the baliff usually does you one for half price. No promises though!

A zander and pike fish-in - interested? I think I'll probably be doing it anyway, meeting up with an old friend. You'd be very welcome to join us. I should say, though, that if the weather is looking dodgy I won't be fishing overnight! I'm going to decide closer to the time. Just a vague idea I thought some of you might be interested in... :)

Just thought we'd check yew wun't a load of furriners catching other people's fish an barbecuin' 'em on the bank, says officer.

That smoking away bit we have yet to successfully achieve; this trip could be a first.
