"ONE of the largest perch ever caught in Britain – and the biggest this column has ever recorded – has been taken from a small Cumbrian day ticket fishery.

 

The monster, which weighed 5lb 8oz, was landed by Lancashire visitor James Dewhurst who used chopped worm at the £3-a-day fishery near Ambleside."

Unfortunately thats the full report,apart from the fishery name.Just a snippet in the local paper.I`ve found a photograph of the "fishery" and its actually a £3 per night pitch your tent in the farmers backyard place!

some of the biggest perch get gaught by accident and heres one such monster. reported to us at 5lb 8oz. james dewhurst got back into angling with a bang, fishing a natural tarn called.........wait for it...........tarn foot farm in ambelside, cumbria where he was camping. the monster stripy, like so often do, did not fall to the standard big fish tactics and emerged from relatively unknown venue. james 26, said, i was using 15lb line straight to a size ten hook which i baited with chopped worm. i was not expecting such a spectacular perch - i have never senn one as big.....i like tarn foot arm, it has a camping facilities and was only three pounds a night. the tarn holds most species, pike, roach,perch(obviously) tench and trout - it is a beautiful place. i also cuaght my best pike at 12lb ???? added preston, lancashire based. mr murphy the man behind the farm told the mail.....we have a fair number of fish up to 3lb 8oz but have never heard anything bigger that this. venue latest 01539 432596. there you go chaps hope this helped. fishing is for life....................

upload it to imageshack or somewhere & then paste the link in to the picture box when you click on the icon, under the fonts dropdown, 4th from the left
