Have we , at long last , got some common sense in our government?

Read here

Along with this was a clip from a woman on telly today being interviewed who stated that it was impossible for her to go to work as she was being treated for depression, hasn't worked for thirty years. <_<

yes, move em into a prefab or a caravan somewhere, do up, spend money on the social housing for the working class. :D

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I saw that clip Barry, my first thought was that she semed pretty fit (not disabled), my next thought was that she was not inarticulate, and my next thought???????????

How can anyone be depressed when they have nothing to be depressed about..no job worries..no rent worries..........no tax bills...........no having to drag herself out in all weathers.

Life of Reilly I would think...........

I know your remarks were meant half tongue in cheek, but it is such attitudes which do nothing to help people with mental illnesses in general.

Depression has nothing to do with feeling fed up about something and the sufferer has about as much control over it as someone with a broken arm or epilepsy etc.

There was in interesting series recently on the topic (I didnt see them all sadly) and the one by Stephen Fry about Bi-polar was quite an eye opener.

(having said that, I don't dispute its an easy cop out for some like the old bad back syndrome)

Spot on Phil,

Depression is not a pleasant experience and even when you have 'beaten' it the threat stays with you forever. Work is not something which should be seen as a pre-requisite to providing shelter, for every work shy sponger there are many who for various reasons find it difficult or impossible to hold down a normal job, social housing provision is there for these sorts of people and any government even contemplating otherwise has definitely lost the plot.

Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... C.Yates

Can't go to work as i might become ill again. ;) provide them with basic needs then, like caravans. Keep the housing stock for the working class. B)

Bad backs, give em ground floor caravans, that would be a help. Save stair climbing.

Perhaps if that woman got a job and had something to occupy her mind then she could "snap out of it" Not worked for 30 years!!! Seemed perfectly able to discuss her problems with the reporter though.

Not everyone enjoys a perfect body and mind, but most deal with it and make something of their life (and I speak from personal experience).

I suffer (and I mean suffer) from a bad back, sciatica puts me out of action for a week or two at least once a year, and is with me every day in varying degrees. I worked with it for years, self employed I had no option. I suppose I could have played the system and ended up on benefit whining and snivelling my way through life. Not for me thankyou.

You think I am harsh? to right mate, I have to pay tax to help keep people like her, and at 70 years old I don't think that is fair either.
