The best laid schemes o mice an men, gan aft aglay, or something like that.

Mine have definitely 'gan aglay'. My hopes for a June 16th start back have been put on hold. It started with the 'novo virus' thing spreading through our family, causing a delay to the decorating I'd started, then the washing machine 'died' on me. This was followed by a water leak from the cold water tank in the loft, not a big one, but enough to ruin part of the decorating that I'd already completed! I haven't even had a chance to get my gear out of the shed, and inspect it!

I've got the MOT on my car coming up next week, and I'm waiting for some hitherto unseen problem to spring up, and cost me an arm and a leg.

I'll have to kneel at the altar of St Isaac, and sacrifice several carp, to appease the angling Gods, and hope they are listening.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Barbel have consumed all my angling time the last few years, so this season will be no different, but I must make the effort with the float gear, is there anything better than trotting a float on a river? Wye, Warks Avon,Teme, and the mighty Severn, so much choice.

I'm looking forward to it but will be waiting for all this rain to stop first...

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Heavy rain forecast for the afternoon where I'll be. I'm only fishing the day so won't have the bivvy and I haven't got a brolly, wonder how long I'll last

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Of course....good point! Probably the only fishery where you could turn with nothing and buy everything you need on the day.

River Trent 0.5 metres up and going through like Ex-Lax on speed!

For health reasons I can only fish in the next 10-14 days, then next opportunity will be Aug/Sept.. So frustrating!
