Alternative Floating Dog Biscuits

I'v been buying 10kg bags of pedigree mixers from a pet shop at 11 pounds 50 ! Would of thought most pet stores have it mate !

I have hung up the dog biscuts now as I found that side by side bread far out fished them. My brother and I did a few side by side comparisons and the fish ignored the biscuits when the bread was present. I found banding the bread made it far easir to work with and hooked better too

Bread can be just as devastating in my opinion mate yep. Love using bread myself sometimes if there being funny with subtle takes I'v found biscuit soaked with the hook buried inside lethal especially on the pole dropping it on their heads

Many years ago i did a side by side test with bread and bread and on this day mothers pride outfished sunblest ,identical tackle both smokers not more than a few feet apart

 

Wait sunblest outfished mothers pride ,it was in 1971?

 

I rarely use anything else ,never tried pellet although they work very well i see ,not bothered really catching fish is down the list when i go

My current favourite bread for crust or flake on the hook is Warburtons.

 

In the past I have made a sponge like floating bait from Richworth Tutti-Fruity boilee mix by adding more eggs until it takes on a sloppy mix and then baking it in the oven.

 

The spongy result had a nice open cake texture and stayed on the hook very well even when cast with a lot of force.

It caught us plenty of Carp off the surface and didn't come off the hook easily like bread does.

 

We also used it as a pop up bait using a snowman type rig and caught quite a few decent Carp using it.
