email notifications?

The forum I used to be on (Fishing Forum for Fishing) had an email notification facility to say I'd had a reply to a post.

 

Is it possible on here???

 

Am I missing a trick???

Hi Martin. When you start a topic there is an option on the right side to "follow this topic" you can check. It is unchecked by default and the name isn't particularly informative but it will do what you want.

Only in the full version on the mobile version (this is the only site i have to use the mobile version) theres nothing to see and only a tick in a circle whatever that is on each post along with a quote dooda and the quote and edit box on yours

If i try the full version it all works but at snail pace ,i guess the playbooks browser is too long in the tooth now although its the same on third party ones ,according to some reports is i am using safari ?!? So i guess theres some confusement on what is looming at the site

The same button on a forum will get you an email for every post in a forum.

I consider I have enough clutter arriving in my email box without being "alerted" to every time an AN member sneezes !

 

When I feel like a chat, I pour myself a snifter and drop in to AN - just as one might drop in to the local for a pint and a natter (and as I used to when I still had hearing) I certainly would not have relished an "alert" that "Billy Stiller is going on about cheese paste in the public bar, and by the way its your round"

Your probably not an avid fan of facebook then where everyone appears to hang their dirty washing in public LOL

Very true, The very names, Facebook and Twitter, put me off

 

On here I only tell you when I get back ! Once we arrived back in the early hours, and were gratified to be promptly visited by my next-door neighbour and his teenage son, both armed with golf-clubs (niblick and sand-wedge respectively) and prepared to "deal with" the suspected housebreakers.. A neighbour prepared to defend your property with a golf club - can't ask for better than that!

I think my 95 year old lady next door and the 95 year old chap next to her wouldnt notice much here LOL

Pretty quite area though so not much happens ,my sisters phone would drive me mad ,continual emails from clients (not that type of client ) she works for herself and her phone is her office
