I had a little play with the blades and clevises that I received from Martin the other day. I'm waiting on some spinner bodies to arrive and then I plan to make myself a load more spinners for both pike and perch. I managed to repair some old favourites using the clevises and modified some existing ones to fit two blades instead of one as I have found dual blade spinners have produced far better for me. The wire I got was pretty cheap at about £5 for 100 lengths. It was quite fun messing around with them. I may even get round to painting a few at some point to see how they fare. Always good to catch on things you have made yourself I think. Thanks Martin. Much appreciated.

I second that :)

Instead of using wire bought from a tackle shop, I use galvanised fence and garden wire, £3.79 for 20m from Homebase.

Great job Rik. Very Professional.

PS - I have some fully made up (Trebles & all) bladed spinners I bought from £1 shop, (Poundland or Poundworld - Can't remember now) - think there was about 8 or 10 on a card

Yes - all them for a Quid!! For that money - chop 'em up for the best bits, nothing to spoil. & Worth that to strip down just to get the bodies?? AND mix & match the already painted blades - with mine say??

They're very good in their own right & look like the £3 odd apiece tackle shop ones.

It's the Pound Shop Stigma & the fact they're on a card that really makes them appear cheap & Nasty - But what can be wrong with the Blades & Bodies??

OK, so the trebles could be iffy?? (though they look ok) & Doubtless Cheap Child Labour is involved?? It's a tough world sadly.

SO - what do you do??

Do you buy from the £ shop & therefore support the child labour regime - OR not buy & drive Child labour even further underground??

That's a real Toughie!!

Yes, I'm equally guilty as charged!!

Better ¢50 a day than ¢0 in my opinion ,i think by cultural means children are assets rather than children as we know them ,perhaps ours should start earning their living rather than living of dad or mum until they are adults as seems to be the case now

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

It may be worth a venture to said pound shop for some spinner bodies as they do seem to be the more costly part of the spinner. My mother runs a beading company so I have asked her to keep an eye out for anything that could be used as one. I also got some metal beads from here for nothing which I am going to use as the spacers between the blades etc. It's a shame I broke my arm on Saturday as I was hoping to get out this week to give them a go :(
