Thats your own invention we sent more prisoners to OZ but they dont complain ....much! As they prefer fires probably the arsonist genes in some criminal element decendants

Luckily in both there was a great deal of things happily to kill convicts so as to save on bed and breakfast we got rid of our bears and wolves so we needed to export our ne're do wells

You're a bit south of me. It makes a surprising difference. I used to live in Newcastle and it felt like winter the whole time.

Lol we moved from folkestone to whitley bay and getting off the coach thought we were in siberia with the wind off the north sea,you get used to it quick though.

This was about 1973 and i remarked to my girlfriend now mrs about the mile after mile stacks of pit props we spotted from the train going to newcastle station (the coach was the final step) now ofcourse theres probably none at all?

 

Being in a river valley here things get muddled ,if the pond freezes it stays frozen over a week longer than the frenshams to the south or badshot lea to the north as we are hemmed in on three sides by the hogs back ,the devils jumps and farnham so the cold air settles and stays the only way to the cold air to escape is across hankley common but thats a slight incline so even then it falls back .

Strange place hankley it has an atlantic wall but probably not changed much since the bronze age but there was a murder of a person that lived in a wigwam ,bit of googling there if your bored

I eventually lived in cullercoats and worked in north shields ,mrs lived in whitley bay but eyes frowned when prospective landlords were asked if we could share so we commuted ,parent lived in whitley bay up the far end of the links
