If i were thinking of the parents i wouldnt have answered ,the parents have control not some third party ,and i do think kids are chattels right up to when they become an adult at 18 and only then do they have a right to have a voice about anything

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Then I simply must disagree. I left school aged 16, and joined the Merchant Navy. By the time I was 18 I had about 9 months Sea Time under my belt. Are you seriously suggesting that when I was several thousand miles away from my home town, somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean working on a bulk carrier that I was still my parents chattel?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

In law your not a adult until 18 so yes your still under the wing of your parents you are a child

Theoretically you cannot leave home until your 17 without parental consent

My mrs an i had a holiday without telling our parents ,she was still 16 so after being questioned by the cops for sleeping on a bench at boscombe she was taken into 'custody' and my old man had to drive from folkestone to pick her up (her lot didnt have a car) she got a new coat i got shunned (again) lol

Never heard the end of that escapade ,i was an adult so left to my own devices by the rozzers she got fed i waited

Your lucky or perhaps not ,boscombe is arguably as far from scotland as you can get lol

Luckily as a kid i had lots of freedom to make mistakes on my own ,even more luckily i seldom made them twice .

My gran was far less restrictive than my mum and on holidays at seton sands no restrictions at all ,great for kids but ours due to where or rather who lived a few doors away had very restrictive upbringings but on moving here let loose but ofcourse to late in life to start young .

Kids nowadays seem unable to come into the sun we rarely see them out and about here without parents when i was a kid i night fished at ten years old but became the attention of the local pedos some things never change you just hear about it more today

Ps for some reasons your links wont work but i admit scotland has different rules i had forgotten ,we got married in newcastle had we crept closer it could have been 44 years married but my mrs got her dads consent at 17

What do you mean "God bless you" Where was God when he was born with this terrible condition in the first place?

Yes. But your children are not you chattel to do with as you please. They are citizens with their own rights.

:nono: Unfortunately he is incapable of making his own decisions so somebody has to make them for him.
