If that were true, carp would be uncatchable in the UK for 7 months of the year.

Perhaps its a yank excuse for NOT fishing for carp when its a bit chilly lol
I have had carp being reeled in with ice fouling the rings!

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness  it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you
