Hedgehogs are rare here we've had the cameras up since 2005 and only spotted one 3 times ,trouble is unlike the bigger animals they dont trigger the motion detection ,if you make it more sensitive it's storing every passing moth!

We may have a hornets nest starting in a shed roof either that they are praying on the little bumble bees that already have one in there

Update the hole the hornet was going in is covered by a web so perhaps just looking for bees or a nest site?

I think we appreciate it because we have so little left and seem to be determined to build on what little habitat is left.

Lots of habitat here ,the poxy RSPB destroyed acres of woodland to 'create ' heathland but if you look at the map theres hundreds of acres of the stuff ,chased all the nightjars and nightingales away (they boast theres more but you cannot hear them anymore unlike before they stuck their noses in ) not the first time i read!

For the first time i heard two skylarks at once! to date the only one was at starcross farm

Luckily we dont have any of these planet saving but bird massacring wind farms around here but no doubt they will appear ,perhaps the idiots at RSPB will rent the land to them 🤔

Just found limpy ,he had mange originally and the fox trust? Said put something or other in a jam sandwich and leave it out, badger got it ,put it on chair badger got it but eventually the fox climbed onto the table and found it .It was very thin so we put dogfood on the table but the local cats got it so i made the bowl with the magnetic lid which defeated them so limpy got his nightly feed

Fipronil?

I've used it to treat ticks and mange on dogs in India.

Super safe for mammals and very effective on the ticks that were plaguing my mate's mutt.

I cant remember it was just small pills i ground up and put in the jam ,the other ones i used were for fleas on dogs which i used now and again ,he spent a great deal of time scratiching so i reasoned any fleas wouldnt help his condition. It would be problematic chasing a fox up the road with a ampule of Frontline lol

The flea pills were nitenpyram ,no idea what the pills supplied by the fox people were

I read an article about 15 years ago, regarding scorpions found in banana boxes and escaping to live in old walls somewhere in Kent. Strange how creatures can survive in different places that do not resemble their natural homes.

I have lived in the Whitsunday region of Queensland for the past 24 years and saw my first Qld fox only 1 km from my house.  Seen many, many foxes in the New England Ranges of NSW, though.

Sheerness docks is the most populated area for scorpions i believe ,they glow under UV torches so are revealed at night

We used to have wallabies somewhere on the pennine way but we never saw any in 1974 ! Saw a coypu at iden lock once though!

PS we will swop your rabbits for more cats and mice ,both of them taste yuk!

Not sure some walls are that different for scorpions ,we had to cover one with grape vines to keep the heat less ,the tomatoes growing by it grow 3 times faster than the front wall ,even then it is noticeably warm walking by it at night ,it catches the sun from noon to sunset

I watched a short news item regarding Wobblies in the English snow Also, saw a very short news item about a flight of budgies over some village in southern England.
By gum! No wonder we have so much English livestock; you good people off loaded all your wildlife for some good stuff!

We have plenty of invasives. The wallabies are still about, we also have small wild populations of coatis, racoons and skunks.

I've seen a wild boar just once, which I thought was odd, given their numbers in the Forest of Dean - then I discovered that Wyre Forest has employed teams of shooters to try to eradicate them.

Muntjack deer are very common, as are American mink.

Canadian Geese and Grey squirrels have virtually displaced their native counterparts.

I've not heard of any budgies, but we do have ring-necked parakeets in and around London. They're spreading too. I've seen three in Birmingham.

Oh, and Eurasian beavers have recently been re-introduced.
