As far as I know all oil floats and there for could not let any sent out in water.

Im going to read up on this, and maybe try and find a expert. I may lurne something.I may not

For a rubby dubby you mix it with bran or rice which sinks taking the oily scent down deep. Also works well on the Bream in places with small tidal run

Ithink that the pilchard oil that has soaked into the bran helps dispurse the rubby dubby, making some partical become semi boyant, thus letting them be carried down the tide line sinking slowly. Its the natural fish juices that do the work of atracting fish, probably not the pilchard oil itself.
