Well this time tomorrow I'm hoping to be into my first barbel of the 2004/5 season.

I'll even settle for a couple of nice chub.

Baited up this evening and put the brolly in my swim just to let folk know it's booked. :):)

I'll be up on the Ribble from dawn...dunno where yet though, the tides down on my stretch at 05:30am, so may go for a trot down there first thing....

Then when the tide comes in, go upstream to Elston on the statics!

Or may go Elston all day...desicions indeed!

can't wait :D

Christ...I live in Scotland and even I'm excited the way you lot are going on. You sound like a bunch of 6 year old orphans waiting on Santa coming...

even though I've been able to fish selected spots right through the close season, I'm still 'up for it' tomorrow. Spent the last two days checking gear, retying knots, charging batteries, restocking deadbaits and generally fussing around boxes of this and that. I'm going down to the river now to change batteries, run both engines, tidy up the boat, fart around for an hour or so, to save doing all of the chores in the morning.

HELP! I've been hijacked!,

"Oh dearest you know those few days your off this week" "yeessss?" "well i'ts daughter's b'day soon and you know I wanted to go to 'megashopsville' and you've got all those other days off later"---- :( So I won't get to chase Mr Barbel & Chub till the evening but then I do get 4 more days till it's back to fixing stuff. :)

Hurray, I've got a pass to go fishing for a couple of hours first thing in the morning as long as I'm back by nine(ish!) to get on with what I'm supposed to be doing  . Still, at least I will have had the best part of the day -won't I? :D After an early start, I feel a nap coming on about mid afternoon-ish . I've never fished the start of the season before so this will be a first.
