900 lb Blue Marlin pics

(the only way I know is to make a post followed by eight "edits" - anyone who knows a clever shortcut please PM me)

 

 

After the initial mayhem of the first searing run of over 300 yds, the boat is backing up and the angler rapidly recovering line.

 

This was when the fish decided to go round the boat - not much to see, but an impression of pretty rapid movement

 

The fish jumped and then surged on the opposite side of the boat

 

The fish kept deep for much of the time until close to the boat - here Norma is just about to touch the dorsal fin to claim her fish.

 

 

The tag has been inserted in the "shoulder" (skate fishers will have seen similar ones on their fish - these are a bit longer, but inserted the same way)

....and I can't get the full length of the fish on camera

 

Let it drift off a bit, but still can't get it all in the shot - and now its diving.

 

This is the lure, an "Andromeda"

 

...and the flags - a blue marlin flag, and the Billfish Foundation release flag - their slogan - "Tag and Brag" - as Norma would not dream of bragging, I'm doing it for her
