Word has it that Sun ( Sin ) pier's lower sections may be removed presently. Talking to the skipper who picks up his charter anglers ( Blue - something ? ) he say's the overdue repair work not being undertaken ( the first 'barge' is half full of water, retaining lugs broken etc )as the council ( ? ) don't see any need to spend any money on it. I'm told it was built as a landing stage for the paddle steamer which now does not use it.

Ok it does attract some of the less "attractive" from socity ( Drug users, Beer sodden louts, Call girls,Leon, Dave, Matt etc . . Oh and myself ), but it is an important resource for us Mulletiers.

Wonder what the oppotunities for Mullet in the London stretch of the Thames ?

Thursday morning I'm off the SW France, so family permitting I'll be wizing over to San Sebastian in Northen Spain which, providing nothing has changed, is a Mullet mecca. I'll let you know how I get on.

just back from the holiday's in ireland.

 

fished 4 times for mullet and have learned loads.

after an e mail and much web browsing seen me land 3,2,0 & 1.

 

first trip was a sunny afternoon and the fish just wanted to play ball. top fish 4-07.

2nd effort from the same spot the next day with 4-03 being the best.

3rd day was a few days later and it was cold and breezy.

4th day was a new venue and the fish was 5lb. strangly that one wasthe most satisfying as the local expert said they were uncatchable.

 

bloody gripping stuff this mullet lark. even looking to buy specialist kit for it now. pity its cold up here soon as they will bugger of shortly. never mind a week in the canaries should see me add to the total.

Does anyone here fish on the river below Christchurch? My Father-in-law has been banging them out to over 6lb and up to 10 per session recently!

the fight was its usual brilliance. these things just don't give up. one of them was in shalow water and it actually leapt out.

 

intoduced my son to the frustrations as well and he got a 3-09 fish. his first. he was pretty pleased.

 

it was so good he came this morning :¬(

yup, nothing, nada, nowt.

bloody loads of them swimming about but not interested in anything i was chucking at them.

Back up to the Mull of Galloway Sat for a week. The mullet are everywhere!!!! must target them one day when the bass vanish

 

Tell you what there are some MASSIVE mullet in the Drummore area !
