Enterprise Tackle Large Pop-up Sweetcorn

I first saw these in an online video with Frank Warwick and they looked superb. I fish a water where the carp are currently being caught on bigger baits. The trouble is, everyone is doing the same thing so trying to find a new edge isn’t easy.

These looked clever. I bought some in my local tackle shop and started to fish with a single piece of the yellow corn in conjunction with an 18mm boilie. The buoyancy of the corn enabled a really good critically-balanced bait. It also had the added advantage of providing something visual too.

I’m not trying to claim that it’s some kind of wonder bait, but on my first trip out with it I had a beautiful 28lb common when the rest of the lake struggled.

I’ve used it on most trips since and although I’ve not caught on every single session, my catch-rate has definitely improved. Such is its buoyancy I’ve even used a couple of pieces on a Chod rig and this has worked well too.

You can get this large corn in white, fluoro yellow and fluro pink, as well as a NiteGlow, which offers an extremely visual bait after dark.
