I first tested this MK2 centrepin last October during the filming for my new 24 Hour Rod Race series and straight away it became my ‘go to’ float reel for the project.
Over the years, working with different anglers, I’ve been given numerous expensive ‘pins to work with and whilst well engineered the performance was nothing more than adequate.
The ‘free-spinning’ nature of this Limited Edition reel makes trotting an absolute pleasure and totally effortless.
It is made out of lightweight aluminium and it leaves a high quality carbon rod feeling balanced and crisp.
As for features, it has a 4.5 inch wide arbor drum, plus a fine drag and ratchet. All the reels are individually numbered and come in a wooden presentation box, so in some ways, your buying an item of tackle as well as a reel that has an element of being collectable.
I’ve used mine for chub, roach, dace, and barbell on the Test, Wye and Severn but I’d be also happy to use it on a long rod in the margins for carp and tench.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it because I use it myself!
