  5. From the bridge, all the way to Poole Harbour, I believe. There is another free stretch in Dorchester where Grayling are often caught in numbers.
  6. Solved the problem by removing the pond !!
  7. Electric Light Orchestra keyboardist Richard Tandy has died at the age of 76. The news was shared by the Birmingham rock group’s founder Jeff Lynne, who described Tandy as a “remarkable musician”. Tandy was credited with helping to shape the sound of the band known for hits including Mr Blue Sky and Last Train to London

  16. Bakers Meaty Chunk dog food seem to be working well at the moment. Slightly boyant to start with, then sink, so not likely to sink into the silt!
  17. There was talk of a Roach of over 4lb being caught on the free stretch of the Frome at Wareham a couple years ago.
  18. What's an iPad ?? I've come away from Hospital wearing one like that in the past !!
  19. Chocolate pandemic ,is there a WHO lockdown on the horizon PS keep it quiet or my mrs will be stockpiling crates of kitkats
  20. Earlier
  21. It seems that Africa's cacao production is also being devastated by a virus - a virus that could go global and make chocolate prohibitively expensive.
  22. That's pretty much what I was planning for option one - and of course, these days, floating braid mainlines make such tactics so much easier, and circle hooks will make it safer for the fish.
  23. It's been a long time since i've fished the method, but I used to drift deadbaits for pike and zander using a set up borrowed from sea fishing using a sliding float and a power gum sliding knot. Easy to cover a range of depths just by sliding the knot up and down the mainline.
  24. I have the option to fish a large, deep reservoir for pike in the autumn. This is well outside my comfort zone, but I see two possible approaches. 1. I can drift suspended deadbaits - if so, at what depth? 2. I can pop up large deadbaits on a 4oz lead, walk them around a bay, and twitch them back. Any thoughts?
  25. My mrs has had 3 replacement knees! one was knackered in 11 months its replacement is half knackered ,shes on crutches but only had a stick pre op! (There was 6 months of fun pushing her about between left leg and right leg.) Our friend had two and can now run! Unfortunately removing the second knee did far more damage than its predecessor had pre installation . (Err confusing myself now) To stop confusing myself her story is left knee was bone on bone and it was replaced by surgeon 1 ,all is fine . Right knee was bone on bone and replaced a year after the first by surgeon 2 ,it failed 11 months later (came loose in the bone at one end and in the mean time had become obselete ) After 6 months in a wheelchair (just realised she was wheelchair bound twice ,tip you can hire them free from the red cross ) knee two was inserted but removing the other bit in the bone caused lots of damage both to bone and nerves .Knee not right and with damaged nerves means she doesnt know where her knee or foot are so needs crutches to stop her tipping over ,tried sticks but not enough support unless on perfectly flat surface ,unfortunately outside the home in reality nothing is perfectly flat and much fun is had watching re-runs of her falling Unfortunately theres videos of me falling over tripping or in the case last week tripping over a bit of wood i carefully propped up so ii didnt trip over it .Covered in bruises (blood thinners dont help) and more scrapes on side of face than the local drunk discovering a crate of Guinness in a ditch. Luckily i bravely saw in slow motion a close up of tarmac scalpings bravely using my head to slow my fall incase i broke my hip . My right knee is getting painful and our new treadmill isnt helping you just cant bloody win !
  26. My back is actually a bit better now, but my knees are knackered.
  27. Oh, I dunno. At 83 I can almost put my pant on without having to sit down to it.
  28. First visit to the reservoir this year on Thursday. It was colder than expected, and I only managed a couple of fish. The first one fell to a foam spider on the point, and the second to a buzzer pattern. It was my first time fishing an indicator, and it worked perfectly, with me striking at both fish before I felt a pull.
  29. Nothings pointless except if its a broken arrow .i for one miss looking at fish i will never catch or never better .
