  1. From what I've seem of other BJ/Normark rods the quality is there and they have Normark written on them and the bag. http://picclick.co.uk/track/302110419682 That twin tip looks like the 13/15 float with no mention of Normark on it. Going by the cheep cork full of filler and none fuji rings, I'm guessing their not Normark.
  2. From googling I can't find much connection to sage and as nice as the rod has been thought out, I can't really see it in the quality either. Around 2004 Masterline seemed to be heavily involved with Javis Walker and the John Wilson rods. Which seems the most likely connection to me.
  3. Sage is interesting barbelbarmy, I've not heard them mentioned before. Any idea what year you got the rod?
  4. Is that the green 13-15 BJ float rod? If so any idea what make blank it is? I was told most likely Normark. Very nice rod, but other BJ/Normark rods seem to have Normark written on them, but the one I have doesn't.
  5. What was developed about it? Just looks like any other bearing pin to me.
  6. He's got selling to anglers sussed. 5 min's in a floppy hat, a quick it's probably the best, some music and cut in a pic of a barbel.............. That's sold a 1000 cheap pins.
  7. Look very stressed and fin nipped to me, like they have been living in a brightly light fish tank.
  8. You've some nice reels Ian, but IMO that king pin should get a zero for looks.
  9. No still happily watching Ian. It's not like I'm short of reels, so no need to rush.
  10. Didn't think it would stick around long at that price. Someone's got a good Christmas pressie.
  11. Best all round float rod I've ever used is a Normark Avenger 11. Slim, Fine in the tip and the power to weight it has put it in a league of it's own. A joy to fish all day with and a joy to get mugged by lumps with. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Normark-Avenger-2-/222338875605?hash=item33c46e00d5:g:EkIAAOSw5cNYSIRB
  12. Think they might just be having a count up to see if they have pennies. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/38219533
  13. some kind of saline water meter?
  14. Phone your doing well with English, better than the Oxford Dictionary. Just a shame you spell every thing wrong over the pond. Sneck is a good northern word for a latch or lock. (p.s. sneck meaning barb must be a very very local thing, like just jaa's house.)
  15. For me Rosburg is the champion bad loser with some of the tricks he's tried over the last season or two.

Unless things have changed, it was always 15 post. Just a quick flick around saying hello everywhere and your there.
  18. Its a shame you can't catch them in the winter Emma, that must be when they weigh their best. Do they never get caught in winter, not even an odd one?

Have a look at Crowborough Anglers. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwigrYuX66XQAhWGLcAKHS_cBQIQFggbMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.crowboroughanglers.org.uk%2F&usg=AFQjCNEG4vo8_Yn8Lf8MUanaA4JiKGmHDg&bvm=bv.138493631,d.d2s Even has a buddies bit to help new comers. http://www.crowboroughanglers.org.uk/page40.php
  20. Yes but I tried stockings and suspenders like you Ian and it was a little draughty.
  21. So going by that, if you have a year class showing prolifically would that not suggest it may be a good time to fish for a scarce but well feed bruiser of a parent perch?
  22. As we get in to the colder months Ian and the low pressures bring the warmer temp's with the wet weather, rising water most often go's hand in hand with rising water temperatures. With very little if any lag between rising water and rising water temps. As much as a 10 degree rise in water temps in a couple of hours on a rising river is not that uncommon. I used to spend many an hour fishing with thermometer in the water next to me in winter and barbel especially can be very fast to respond.
  23. Ye get on ya bike and leave the fish for the rest of us. I can see my bag weights doubling. Not done half as much coarse fishing myself this year. The bug does come and go.
  24. It's chucking a 9wt about nicely, just need to find something to pull on the other end. Salmon seem to be a bit thin on the ground this season, so I've not give it much time really. It's a lovely rod, but you do know you have been fishing after a couple of hours with it.
  25. I was down there a few weeks back and did a bit of fishing. They don't like redfins either Ken or tench. They ask you not to put them back if you catch them. Trout are the master race.
