  1. It gives a date of January 11th 2010 Check out the Trees in the Background, they seem to have an awfull lot of leaves on them for a January day I suppose it must be a lot different down there in France
  2. Isn't there one that starts There's a Plaice for us.......... I think it's from "West Side Story"
  3. I just sat down and enjoyed it, I'm going to watch it again tomorrow as the wife is out at a dog show, so a little me time, I just found it so relaxing, I thought the editing was excellent, nothing jarred, and that cross fade shot of the changing light on the lake was very good.
  4. Merry Christmas everybody, have a good one, I'm just about to sit down to a supurb dinner my wife has prepared , bless her.
  5. A fish you'll never forget, well done
  6. Made me laugh out loud so much it made the dogs jump
  7. Yeah, but a caravan gets bogged down if you get too close to the water I still like my self standing Pop up Bivvy at £59, although mine only cost £39 when I bought it

    hello

Welcome Barney Look forward to your postings to see what type of Angling you prefer, what specie's ETC One thing, nice Idea if you state whereabouts you are, put the nearest large town to you or at least put your County, that way it helps people reply to you if you have a query pertaining to your area
  9. That looks like a good bit of kit Den, did you make it up yourself I've just ordered this for a bit of comfort, it looks like it may suit my needs
  10. I fish quite a few small lakes and ponds around me here in South Lincolnshire, although they are just a hole in the ground and they charge to fish them, I suppose you would call them commercials, but nearly all of them are small brick pits where they took the clay out to make the bricks for the surrounding houses in late Victorian times, they are all naturally stocked nearly every village has one There is a specially dug commercial I have been to in Boston, the difference with that is there is a bridge to the Island, and you all fish on there to the outside, but everyone casts to the outside except me, wherever I am, I always fish under my feet.
  11. Doesn't it make you want to move south...........don't answer that.
  12. I know what you mean MikeT, it's strange, I've been fishing since a lad in the 1930's, but i've started weighing some of my fish,..not all, maybe it's because so many put their weights up, I have caught the bug
  13. I think I would like a 9lb Tench, the best I've had is a 7lb, and the feel of that was wonderful. Never tried for a Catfish,.......maybe one day, who knows When I lived in Leighton Buzzard I used to fish Rackley Hills Pit, and that had Catfish, but I was more into the roach there
  14. Exactly right, Lord of the Rings would have made it's money in the Cinema circuits worldwide over and over again, so when they get to putting it out on DVD thats icing on the cake, production costs are negligible for transferring it onto DVD. As a Cameraman and film editor I can tell you, copyright for the music alone used in Catching the Impossible would have been about £3000 to £4000, with an additional fee for the quantity of disc's produced, there is copyright free music available for sale but by comparison it's rubbish, it's not cheap making films, there's all sorts of costs that push it up I have just watched the first two episodes on the disc, and it is absolute first class, not only the quality of the picture, but the quality of the subject and the editing is superb, and the underwater scenes are something else, for pricing, you can only compare it to what else is on the market in that category, I think it is good value for the money
  15. Personally, I found the Angling sequences in Lord of the Rings total C**p, the venues weren't a patch on those found by mister Miles, and he didn't have to use computer technology to multiply the fish
  16. I don't about the nearest fishing place to Ingoldmells, but there are loads of fishing places around there, I know there are a few in and around the Village of Orby, in fact looking at Live Search and zooming in there are a few lakes on the Orby road coming out of Ingoldmells. There's some big lakes on the Promenade between Chapel St leonards and Ingoldmells, and quite a few of the caravan parks have got fishing lakes in Ingoldmells
  17. My copy of Catching the Impossible arrived this morning, can't wait to sit down and watch it, trouble is I'm so busy just at the moment it's going to have to go on the back burner, I reckon next Tuesday or Wednesday it might ease up. Anyone else had their's yet
  18. I've had mine on order a couple of weeks now, I can't wait, it looks like it's going to be all I hoped it would, those underwater sequences are terrific.
  19. Contacted them this morning by Email, pointing out the discrepancies in the pricing, had an Email back a little while ago to apologize, they said they did have a computer system error and anyone that has ordered the DVD will only be charged £29.50 included the VAT and the P&P.........so you can now all order it with confidence
  20. Tigger On my printed out reciept its states "Catching the Impossible DVD 3x1 hour films. I made a mistake on my Postcode, so will have to ring them tomorrow to put that right so will clarify it then, I'll tell them how misleading it is.
  21. Just ordered mine, it's 29.50 +VAT +5.00 P&P Grand total of 36.45 for the three disc's, it says 3x1 hour films, a little misleading as it says 29.50 inc VAT & P&P at the begining, when you start to order you find out.
  22. I absolutely adore my "passion" discs, and recently I bought "Caught in Time", a superb Angling film, now I've have just got to order "Catching the Impossible".......as rarepleasures says, just look at those stills, it's mouthwatering. Can't wait for the end of the month when they will dispatch them.
  23. I have 3 spring balance scales, one weighs up to 50lb, one 8lb, and one 14lb, I hung all three under one another, zeroed them then hung known weights on the bottom one and took readings, I'm pleased to say all three stayed in sync up to 8lb, then removed the 8lb scales and tested the other two up to 14lb all was ok, I went on to check the big one up to 30lb, it was all fine i'm pleased to say.
  24. My first thought was Rudd, but if you magnify the image, the bottom lip doesn't jut forward so wondered if it was Roach, but the scales and colouring look like Rudd
  25. That reminds me, some years ago I had a static caravan at Emberton Park, several of the caravan were broken into including mine, loads of gear was stolen, they stole my small box with a couple of Abu reels and spools but the rods and landing net were dumped in the hedge, they were crap, but they caught fish
